It has come to my attention that a former "friend" of mine had something saved on her computer and was planning on showing it to the public. However she was waiting untill she became more popular then me so she could attempt to ruin my reputation as an artist but not her own.

I'm not naming names now because I'm an Adult.

If you know me as an artist at all, or have even popped into my livestream, you know that, while I do occasionally work with a reference, I never trace.  Anyone who has spent two minuets watching me sketch via livestream knows this, I have nothing to hide.  I'm not about to let someone's petty jealousy touch my reputation.  I am a professional, so I am nipping this in the bud right here and now.

This is what they were going to show a piece I made in 2011 referenced with a stock image: i114.photobucket.com/albums/n2…

Like LOOK at my crotch, it is way the hell up there compared to the photo, the only thing that remotely lines up is the shoulder and part of the rib-cage?

I do not trace my artwork.  The lines on the images do not match up, even if you can tell I used it as a reference.  They teach you in art school to use a reference and for the best results, place the image beside one another, so I am unapologetic for it.  There is nothing wrong with using a reference for a pose, I encourage people to if they are having a difficult time, it is how you learn. The funny thing is that the person who is trying to pin this claim on me has been caught tracing themselves.

I have talked about the differences in tracing/references many times this was snagged from a previous journal of mine:

"Not everyone is perfect, not everyone is a great artist and if you're in the art field OF COURSE you are going to reference, and there is absolutely no shame in that, we all do it, it is how you learn and grow. I believe that if you reference from a picture completely free handed, then you should be able to post the work without crediting, it would be nice, but unnecessary"

If some of you are even remotely skeptical of my abilities, I can gladly livestream myself sketching poses.

Thankyou <3

They'll make a fool of themselves. Clearly they didn't learn much from other big artists.
Apparently hardheaded and will burst into tears when she finds out the insults she'll get.

Your reputation wouldn't really be harmed. Only n00bs would agree with her to gain her respect.

If you did trace, we know you don't, no biggie.
You really changed it up, added characteristic emotions to it, and made it professionally presentable. :)
